Every muscle in white shepherd 'Kooki' is ready! Any second now he's going to jump.
At first we let Kooki just stand in front of the museum but he wanted to play. So his dogmum threw his frisbee into the air and I managed to caputre this pose.

This photo was taken in Leadenhall Market, a historic London landmark dating back to the 14th century, where it once thrived as a center for trading meat, poultry, and game. The Wirehaired Vizsla, known for its role as a hunting dog, finds its place amid the market's warm glow and rain-soaked cobblestones - reflecting the heritage of the breed and the market's rich past.

I wanted to bring children's fairy tale stories to life with my studio portraiture for the BC Children's Hospital Pet Therapy program calendar for 2025. Celebrating the strength of these incredibly brave young hospital patients, shown alongside some of the beautiful dogs enrolled in the pet therapy program was the most enriching project I have ever worked on.

This is Rune 90 years old and his dog Hajen. Rune is a man with heart failure and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease due to his long work at a concrete factory, and his only happiness in life is his dog Hajen. If he loose Hajen he will probably die in some few days, since he will loose all meaning of live and give everything up. Their bond is so strong, and they really love each other.

This photo was taken while traveling through a blizzard from Siorapaluk, the northernmost indigenous village in the world, to Qaanaaq, Greenland. We did not have a GPS, cell service, or the ability to communicate more than a few words in English. Our protection if we were to run into a polar bear was a rifle from 1940 and the fight within our 13 Greenlandic Huskies. We had to stop so my guide, Ilannguaq, could untangle the sled ropes. The dogs watched on and patiently waited until they could get back to doing their favorite thing in the world - running.

This is Santos, a podenco rescued by Hope For Podencos. I visited them in Albacete, Spain, as part of my book project on Podencos,
Podencos are a horribly abused hunting dog breed in Spain. Every year, after the hunting season ends, thousands get dumped, and a few lucky ones are saved by rescue organisations such as Hope For Podencos. With my photography, I try to help as much as I can: Together, we are stronger!

Lexie is very calm.. until she sees her ball. As soon as she has eyes on the ball, nothing else is important. Tornado? A buffalo herd? I think she wouldn't even notice. The beach was the perfect location for her energy. We saw the most beautiful sunset this day and used the light to create beautiful shots like this.

Rio is one of my favorite models. He is an awesome working dog and does dog shows with his human. This photo was taken almost a year ago, it was my first time photographing him. I got some amazing action shots. I knew I wanted to shoot more action shots, but that photoshoot really confirmed it. Some running in the water, some frisbee shots, some frisbee freestyle with his human... I was just in love with the photos.

Blaze the Duck Tolling Retriever giving his all as he dashed through the water towards my camera. His intense focus, energy, and love for the water shined like the sparkles from the water drops in this photo when he came to work with me in the Chesapeake Bay. When composing this portrait I had a completely different image in mind. However, a magic moment was created when Henry’s hood slipped down over his eyes and I quickly grabbed this shot. I love the juxtaposition of this portrait. They say the eyes are the window to the soul and I find it amazing how, by just taking away that one aspect of him, it completely changes who he is and gives him a completely different persona. Just goes to show you can’t always judge a book by its cover.

In my photograph, I captured Maggie, a beautiful and intelligent Dalmatian—one of my favourite breeds. I dressed her in a black feather boa and a hat, echoing the iconic character Cruella de Vil from Disney's "101 Dalmatians." I aim to invite an interplay of humour and nostalgia. Set against a neutral grey backdrop, Maggie’s natural black and white fur blends seamlessly into her elaborate costume. The unruly feathers and her regal expression create a striking composition.

When working with the laziest dog breed in the world (I’m allowed to say this as he is my lazy boy!) there is always plenty of nap breaks. On this particular occasion Henry decided to just flop down onto the floor in the middle of the studio and buried his head in a scarf. Nice try Henry, but being your typical dog mum/photographer I just decided to continue on whether he was asleep or not. Because who doesn’t love a picture of their sleeping baby!

We scheduled a photo shoot at a lake to capture the sunrise. None of us expected the magical scene that awaited us – the sun rising behind the trees, the mist slowly moving across the lake's surface. It was worth the effort of waking up at 4:30 a.m. in the hot summer to witness and capture such a breathtaking moment. Sometimes, you have to take that extra step to capture the magic.

No matter how fast and far I run: my shadows follow.
You will find this incredible place in northern Norway. As we drove past, I immediately had "that photo" in my head. So we came back early one morning. The sun was still very low and cast deep shadows, a sea eagle accompanied us on our way. The atmosphere was magical while we were framed by the imposing mountain range.
This photo, together with our dogs, means an incredible amount to me because they accompany us on every journey we make.

An awe-inspiring morning in the forest unfolds as the walk begins in thick fog, slowly lifting as the day progresses. A team of Greenlandic sled dogs take a rest on the sea ice while their tethers are untangled. The sled is loaded down with halibut that Peter caught during our overnight trip to his fishing hole. Fishing by dog team is still practiced in largely the same way it has been for millennia.
The midday sun is still low on the horizon as the light has only recently returned after a long dark winter. The dogs sleep out on the bare ice as overnight temps reached -40degC. The sled, insulated by animal hides, served as our sleeping platform and an old canvas tarp overtop acted as a makeshift tent...

This photo was taken in Collarenebri, NSW, Australia. I was documenting the working dogs of the country and visited a wool farm during sheering season. After the sheep were sheered and sprayed with an aqua-colored anti-lice spray, the dogs herded them to the other end of the 9,000 acre plot. This dog is a Kelpie, the most common and revered working dog in Australia.
